You can grab a coffee and wake up with Amanda Zitzman, Chris Wright and Al Peterson weekday mornings on KVAL from 5 to 7 a.m. and on KVAL News at Noon.

Amanda comes to Eugene from sunny Jacksonville, Florida where she worked for the past 3 years at WTLV/WJXX as the morning Traffic Anchor. During her time there, she also Co-Anchored the News at Noon in addition to solo Anchoring the Saturday morning 2-hour broadcast.

Amanda began her career in television news at WJXT-TV when she was just 19 years old and quickly moved up the ranks, working as a Producer, Reporter and fill-in Traffic Anchor.

Some of Amanda's top achievements thus far include an exclusive interview with a close friend of Casey Anthony at a peak time during Anthony's murder trial. In addition, her investigation and subsequent follow up reports on drivers dangerously violating school bus stop arms directly assisted a new safety bill advance in the Florida Senate.

On the desk, Amanda stood by for emergency press conferences as Hurricane Sandy moved up the Florida coast. She also brought breaking updates on the lockdown of a local high school after an acid bomb was thrown on campus, and Anchored LIVE as the First Coast learned of a major gambling ring and racketeering scandal involving top-ranking Florida officials.

Amanda is looking forward to exploring all that Eugene has to offer, especially kayaking and hiking. You can also probably find her at the dog park with her dog Rafael.
