Multi-Media Journalist
Wesleigh joined the KCBY team in August 2012 as an anchor and multimedia journalist. She graduated with a B.A. in Journalism and a B.A. in Religious Studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.

Wesleigh caught the news bug early. She anchored and reported for her high school’s news broadcast and knew it was the perfect path for her.

At SMU, Wesleigh worked every position behind and in front of the camera at the campus news broadcast, The Daily Update. She was also the video editor and a contributing writer for the school’s newspaper, The Daily Campus.

Wesleigh interned with WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas where she had the opportunity to learn from incredible journalists and mentors. She worked as a production assistant for ESPN and ESPNU and at an online magazine in London. While there, she loved traveling to Ireland, Scotland, and Amsterdam.

Wesleigh is most proud of conducting a live interview with Bob Schieffer and of directing a multi-camera interview with Katie Couric.

She chose to pursue journalism because she knows that each day will be different from the one before. She’s excited to take on the challenge of constant deadlines and surprises. Most importantly, she wants to tell great stories.

Wesleigh enjoys camping, going to the lake, and music. She is originally from Southern California and loves the beaches here, even though they’re not nearly as warm.
