Nia joined the KVAL crew in February 2013 and is a Chinese-Korean-American hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area.
She graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.A. in Literary Journalism and is a proud alumna of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Kicking off her writing career as a Reporter and Associate Entertainment Editor for her college paper for the first two years, she then spent her junior year abroad at The University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, and returned to Orange County to finish her last year at UCI.
It was in her final year where she had the opportunity to intern at the assignment desk and for the entertainment department of KABC 7 in Los Angeles.
She discovered her passion for broadcast journalism and her life direction took a vastly different path than the print journalism route she had been following.
Nia has lived in other countries but this is the first time she's lived in another state!
She's loving all that Oregon has to offer and in return can't wait to provide Oregonians in-depth, balanced and accurate coverage of news across the Pacific Northwest.
If you see her downtown or at local festivals, feel free to say 'hello' or follow her on Twitter and Facebook.
