Tim Chuey
Tim Chuey, Meteorologist, has been a Television Weatherman for over 34 years. He has lived here since 1992.
Tim got his degree in Broadcast Meteorology from Memphis State University (now known as the University of Memphis). He has earned and retains the American Meteorological Society's Seal of Approval for Television Weathercasting since 1982. Tim won the 2000 Oregon Associated Press "Best Weathercast" award, and has won the award an unprecedented four times, with second places, third places , and an honorable mention in other years. Over the years, Tim has received two Public Service Awards from the National Weather Service for "Outstanding Work" in the education of the public concerning severe weather and for the way weather bulletins are put on the air. Tim had an article published in 2003 on the formation of clouds that was contained in a large-scale national science text book for high school students called “Water Sciences and Issues.” Tim is a member of the Downtown Lions Club, and a church choir. He and his wife Suzanne have two grown children; A daughter - Michelle, a son, - Adam, one granddaughter - Phela, and one grandson - Atticus. |
