This year's Title Sponsors are Douglas Timber Operators and Weyerhaeuser. The Coos Basin Amateur Salmon Derby kicks off this year on Friday, September 10, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a derby contestant and ticket holder BBQ and silent auction to be held at Menasha Forest Products Corporation located at 1515 Sheridan Avenue in North Bend. Tickets for the derby can be purchased for $20.00 each from Englund Marine, Y-Marina, Coos Bay Marine, The Bites on Bait and Tackle Shop and Butler's Pronto Print. Tickets are also available at the following boat ramps the days of the derby: Eastside, California Street, Dora's Place, and Myrtle Trees. Ticket purchasers will have a chance to win $500 in a random drawing. Children 13 and under fish for free when accompanied by an adult! Children's tickets are available at the boat ramps the day of the derby. Derby prizes include the adult cash prizes first through fourth totaling $1000 and a "Kid's Biggest Fish" cash award of $100.
