A pesticide laws and safety workshop will be held in November for workers who require a public or commercial pesticide applicator license. Steve Renquist, horticulture faculty with OSU Extension – Douglas County, will be the instructor. Cost is $100 and participants will learn all the topics covered on the pesticide certification exam and receive the Oregon Pesticide Applicator Manual EM 8850. This two-day class will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Nov. 7 and 8, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Both sessions will be held at SWOCC in Empire Hall, Room Lakeview E. The Laws and Safety exam is required for full certification, but that exam must be scheduled through the testing center at SWOCC and there is a separate fee.
Registration is done through the OSU Extension Service in Myrtle Point. Participants are asked to register at least one week in advance of the class date. Registration forms are available online at http://extension.oregonstate.edu/coos/, or by contacting the Extension Service at 541-572-5263. Payment may be made in advance by credit card through the website or mail in your check with the registration form.
