The glory days of America's railroads may be gone, but the memories linger in hundreds of songs. Storyteller, singer and historian Jeni Foster will present the
program: Magic Carpet Made of Steel: Songs of America's Railroads.
This entertaining program presents vignettes from American history through the prism of railroad songs. They include Black and Irish worksongs, country music, folk music, the blues, Dixieland and songs from the Underground Railroad in the Civil Rights Movement.
