Fiddlers to Play for May 17 Barn Dance in Greenacres.
Two of Coos County’s finest fiddlers, Allen Todd and Bob Schaffer, will be on stage at the Greenacres Grange Hall for a special community Barn Dance on Saturday, May 17. They are members of a band called Seagrass Country, which also features guitar, bass, piano and mandolin. The South Coast Folk Society welcomes dancers of all ages and abilities to join us for a delightful evening of dancing to great live music. No experience is necessary. Woody Lane, a popular caller from Roseburg, will teach a variety of easy-to-learn dances.
This is a public dance, and it is open to singles, couples, and families. Seagrass Country will play for three hours beginning at 7PM. The atmosphere is relaxed, and admission is only $5.00. Students and seniors pay $4.00, and children under six are free. Doors open at 6:45, and light refreshments are available. This is an alcohol, tobacco, and fragrance free event.
