Exploring Older Adult Hunger and Solutions

Coos Bay, OR. -- Hunger in Oregon and the South Coast is a major challenge. Our state is one of the top five hungriest states for people 50 years old and older. Be part of the solution to end hunger among people 50 and up. Bring your ideas, connect others, and help develop action steps to make a difference in the lives of older adults. Explore the following health, resources, and policy solutions with: Bandana Shrestha, AARP Oregon, is speaking on "Older Hunger"; Nancy Weed, Partners for Hunger Free Oregon, will talk about SNAP and Food Resources and Policies; Stephanie Pollizi will present “Eating Healthy on a Budget”; and Christine Cole’s topic is “Food Deserts in Coos and Curry Counties.”

This special presentation is 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2013, Hales Performing Arts Center, Southwestern Oregon Community College, 1988 Newmark Ave. Coos Bay, Oregon.
