Event Description
On Friday evening, February 12th at 6pm, The Coos County Republican Party will be presenting a public candidates’ forum. You can question and hear short presentations from five Republican candidates running for Federal, State, and Coos County offices. It will be held at the Coquille Community Building, North Birch at First Street, Coquille.
A spaghetti dinner will be prepared by a nationally renowned local chef, Bradley Hargens of The Venture Inn, Coos Bay. Dinner is $15 each, or $25 per couple. Please RSVP to the numbers listed below.
The candidates scheduled to speak are:
Allen Alley, campaigning for the Republican nomination for Oregon Governor, currently held by Ted Kulongoski;
Jaynee Germond, campaigning for the Republican nomination for the US Congressional House of Representatives (4th Congressional District) seat currently held by Peter DeFazio.
Dr. Scott Roberts, campaigning for the Republican nomination for Oregon’s House of Representatives (9th Congressional District) currently held by Arnie Roblan.
Andy Jackson, currently the Coos County Sheriff, running for Coos County Commissioner position #3, currently held by Kevin Stufflebean.
Don Van Dyke, running for Coos County Commissioner position #2, currently held by Nikki Whitty.
Many other elected officials from Oregon and Coos County will attend, but are not scheduled to speak.
