Autumn Chutney with Apples, Pears & Cranberries
Ingredients:
2-3 apples peeled, cored and cut into 1/4 inch pieces 2-3 pears peeled, cored and cut into 1/4 inch pieces 1 cup dried cranberries (may substitute fresh if desired) 1 cup chopped carrot 1 cup chopped onion 1 tsp. tumeric 1 tsp. salt (optional) 1 tbs. Allspice 1 tbs. Tandoori Spice 2 cups brown sugar 2 cups water 2 cups apple cider vinegar Instructions: In a large heavy bottomed pan combine all ingredients and simmer for 2-3 hours. Let liquids reduce by 3/4. Adjust sweetness or salt as desired. Refrigerate and serve as a condiment with cheeses or a holiday meal. Can be processed as a preserve and given as a gift. |
