October Heart Gallery children

October Heart Gallery children

By Kendra Schmitt

Four year old Mark and two year old Anthony were all smiles and giggles when we met up with them at Gymboree Learning and Play Center.

The recreation area for the little people was the perfect spot for this energetic duo. Anthony has a hip brace from a recent surgery but that hasn't slowed him down one bit.

Case worker, Joni Brands, says "The boys have made small gains and they will continue to do that, as long as they're able to have access to many service providers.

The boys' grandparents are their caregivers right now.

A perfect family for these boys? A family that has knowledge of developmental disabilities and can celebrate the 'slow and steady'.

Mark is slightly autistic and will need a speech therapist. Anthony has been diagnosed with cerebral palsey.

Small steps, but big rewards for the family that brings these boys home.

For more information about Mark and Anthony, call 686-7555 and ask for the adoption case worker of the day.
