Recession proof your career
PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Ivanhoe Newswire) -- Many analysts say the signs are all there and some are starting to use the "R" word -- as in recession. But employment experts say there are some steps you can take right now to help preserve your job and keep your career on track, even if the economy does take a dive.
Darrah Muchoney has a lot that keeps her moving these days. She's a part-time dance instructor. And a full-time high school English teacher. But she didn't start out making lesson plans. Several years ago, Muchoney was laid off from her job as a public relations writer. "There were signs, but I think you're never really ready for it. I think my first thought was what now?"
