Coos Bay teachers to get pay increase

COOS BAY, Ore.-- Coos Bay teachers will get a pay increase for the next two years.

Last night the Coos Bay School Board and the teachers union representing Coos Bay teachers approved a long-awaited contract agreement last night.

School Board Chairman James Martin tells KCBY that teachers will now recieve step pay increases.

Fourteen hundred dollars will be added to their salaries immeadiately.

The board also promised another increase for the next school year, and say that will not be a burden on the district's budget.
