Kidnapping trial set to being Tuesday

COQUILLE, Ore.-- A man accused of kidnapping two Coos Bay girls last July to have sex with them in a North Bend Park will now have his case heard before a jury beginning on Tuesday morning.
Robert Wayne Perez was arrested by North Bend Police last July after police say they just happened to stumble on Perez and the girls in the early morning hours at Ferry Road Park.
Perez was out on probation at the time, and he has already plead guilty to a probation violation.
The two girls involved in the incident were 12 and 13, and they were found unharmed when police stumbled upon the scene.
According to Coos County Assistant District Attorney Stephen Petty, Perez's trial is set to begin Tuesday morning with jury selection and opening statements.
Perez faces the following charges:
- Endangering the welfare of a minor (2 counts)
- Furnishing liquor to a minor (2 counts)
- Coercion (2 counts)
- Criminal Trespass 2
- Kidnapping (2 counts)
- Sex Abuse 3
