Large boat runs ashore in Charleston
CHARLESTON, Ore.-- A large boat ran ashore Wednesday morning near the Charleston Marina.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the boat's pilot was lost in heavy fog Wednesday morning when he ran ashore on the northeast side of the marina.
The Coast Guard says they have removed the boat's anchor and hopes the boat will become unstuck once high tide takes effect in the area.
Witnesses say at one point the boat nearly capsized on Wednesday morning. When KCBY arrived in Charleston Wednesday afternoon, the boat was sitting up right, and the boat's owner was still aboard the ship awaiting high tide.
