RV meeting gives CB and NB economic boost

NORTH BEND, Ore.-- The Family Motor Coach Association's Northwest Chapter meeting at The Mill Hotel and Casino last week is expected to have brought in millions to the bay area.

The meeting was the first time the FMCA has ever come to the bay area, and the group's vice president says the south coast was a pleasant change from the group's usual meeting spot in Albany, Oregon.

"Here we are. We came today and its been a lot of fun and it's a great area, and we thought the coast would bring a lot of FMCers here," FMCA Vice President Andy Vallough said. "It's been great!"

The group not only had events at the casino, but it also held events across Coos Bay and North Bend which encouraged the RVers to interact with local businesses.

According to Vallough, previous communities that have hosted the event have reported that the group spends between three to five million dollars every year in the hosting town.

Vallough says the group was very pleased with North Bend and could return as early as 2015.
