Seniors and families attend resource fair

NORTH BEND, Ore. -- Seniors and their families came out to the Pony Village Mall on Saturday for the 14th annual Elder Resource Fair.

Organizations from all over the bay area participated, from assisted living, to veterans affairs, to Lincare.

In addition to health resources, there were booths to sign up for volunteer opportunities and even square dancing. Perhaps the most popular part was the prize give-away.

North Bend resident, Mary Lou Henslee, found valuable information on relieving her bronchitis at the fair. "We came last year and it was fun. We both won prizes and they have lots of goodies and lots of information," Henslee said.

With about 22% of Coos County being 65 years or older, this fair is a valuable resource. It is sponsored by the Community Health Education Coalition.
