Two CB businesses investigated for illegal marijuana
COOS BAY, Ore.-- Drug Enforcement Agents carried out search warrants on two Coos Bay- Bunker Hill businesses on Tuesday morning.
A D.E.A. agent who could not speak on camera tells KCBY that the warrants are related to marijuana.
Both a smoke shop and Anthony's Garden and Hydroponics Supply shop were investigated by D.E.A. agents for most of the morning on Tuesday.
The agent who spoke with KCBY said she could not give out many details except to say that undercover agents had been keeping their eyes on these locations for a while.
One customer at Anthony's, who identified herself as "Mary", tells KCBY that Anthony's was a previous distributor of medical marijuana, but reaction from nearby businesses caused them to close down.
"He's been here for over 8 years, and this is an organic place to grow fresh vegetables," Mary said. "They have dirts and all kinds of thing that are organic.
Mary said she has never witnessed the growing of marijuana inside the store, and she believes the store was investigated simply because of its past as a medical marijuana dispensery.
"This is just a place that just sells things for anything you need to grow for yourself," Mary said.
D.E.A. agents said more information could be released in the future from the U.S. Attorney's office in Portland, and they would not confirm if anyone was arrested on Tuesday.

Maybe us Oregonians should give the DEA a clear message and vote yes on measure 80, the Cannabis Tax Act. This would bring in revenue to our area and clear out the illegal Mexicans from controlling the market.Â
What a complete waste of there time and our money. Obamma What happened you promised you would not do this. Is it not bad enough that if we need the medicine and 50,000 plus people in oregon alone have found that yes this does help that everyone of these folks who have found medical marijuana is helping them that they have to be scared to death to get there medicine in fear of the dea raids. Is'nt it bad enough that if you keep breaking your promise you are only asking all these people to go to the streets to purchace there medicine. How stupid is that. (Where did marijuna come from of the streets the cartell) Folks who need there medicine have enough hurdles to get over with the state rasing fees to obtain there card. Then if they use medical marijuna Doctors have decided that person is no longer allowed prescription medications to help them with there illness. How many people do you need to tell you that yes it does help. These ridiculas rules on plant limits etc is insane. There are many ways to use marijuana besides smoking. Tinctures, rubs jucing, edables, etc. Take A person Who jucies the plant and is wanting the cbd, they are not going for the thc (Of which they do have plants with little to no thc) . In order to juice it takes a plant per day that is typically 3 to 4 feet tall. So what a joke it is for a patient to have to worry about plant limits. Here you can have some medicine but not enough to help you. Come on america stand up to this insanity.  Dea wants america to be hooked on morphine, methodone, fentenall etc. I personally can tell you they did nothing but make me puke and miserable the whole time I was on them. I was unable to do anything I just wanted to die. So I turned to marijuana at the age of 50 years old. You think I wanted that NO but it HELPS.  Quit wasting are tax dollars and raiding the people who have tried to provide a safe friendly atmosphere for folks to go and purchase medicine that allready has the stigma that the goverment has put on marijuana. Every one of the compassion employees I know have strived to provide the safest medicine and friendly caring atmosphere I have ever delt with. I dont know of any doctor in the state of oregon who have gone out of there way to help there patients.  Why dont we look back at last years holidays where turkeys were given by the compassion center to hundreds of needed folks free of charge and how the compassion center open the green spot doors to the cold and hungry for a place to stay if you had no home. How much good does a person need to do for people to get tired of big america coming in and interfeer with what has been a benifit to our society and community. I know I go to my doctor appoinment and am fed up with the disrespect both nurses technicians and doctors and god forbid we talk about having to stand in line at a pharmacy and be treated horriblely by the folks who work in them. Not once was I ever treated that way at the compassion center. So was it worth you raiding these places. I say NO GO AWAY DEA LET ME HAVE MY MEDICENE PLEASE Â
why are we wasting taxpayers monies on such nonsense!! meanwhile serious drugs such as meth are on the rise and affecting families and kids!!!
Both of those businesses Bunker Hill Smoke shop Aka South Coast Compassion and Anthony's Gardens are owned by the same people!
