QB 411 on UO's Masoli and OSU's Pryor
PASADENA, Calif. -- In the winter of 2008, Oregon head coach Chip Kelly worked hard to try and bring Terrelle Pryor to Oregon from Pennsylvania to run his spread attack. Pryor chose Ohio State, so Kelly went and found Jeremiah Masoli, who the Oregon coach calls "the ideal fit for the Ducks' system."
Masoli is a combination of speed and power, wrapped in a smaller package. What he lacks in size, he makes up for in heart.
Pryor is what you might draw up if you could design your own quarterback -- at least from a physical attributes standpoint.
And both are sometimes at their best when forced out of the pocket -- scrambling to extend the play, and keeping their offenses on the field.
