"Meet the Bulldogs" night at North Bend kicks off winter sports season

North Bend - It's that time again, winter sports season is upon us and the North Bend Bulldogs held their traditional "Meet the Bulldogs" night to celebrate.

Winter sports teams including boys and girls basketball, wrestling, swimming, bowling, and cheer were introduced to North Bend parents, and sports fans at the NBHS Gym on Monday evening.

North Bend Athletic Director Boyd Bjorkquist says it's a great way to get the kids and fans excited for the upcoming season.

"It's obviously a good time for us, as we finish up fall sports. Just the excitement of the student athletes that have been working the last three or four weeks getting ready for their seasons. To have a chance to get out in front of some people, maybe have a little fun, that will help them be prepared for their season," says Bjorkquist.

During the evening, each team was introduced by their coaches, and some were asked to show off what they have been working on in practice as they gear up for their respective sports.

"In some of our sports we are still missing some athletes because football is still playing but I think our coaches are excited about the kind of teams they're gonna have this year and our kids have been working very hard. We have good turnouts, so we're really looking forward to our winter seasons."

Most of the teams will begin play in their respective sports next week.
