COOS BAY - The South Coast Clambake Jazz Festival wasn't the only place to hear good jazz music over the weekend, as an ensemble from the U.S. Air Force Band, stationed in the San Francisco Bay Area, pays a visit to our Bay Area.

The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West Commanders Jazz Ensemble held a free concert at Marshfield High School Auditorium on Sunday.

The 18-piece big band played music ranging from the 1940's to modern jazz with a variety of contemporary jazz, Latin hits and funk.

This band is stationed at the Travis Air Force base in Fairfield, California and is the only remaining active duty Air Force Band west of the Rockies, serving five states.
