COQUILLE - It was a night of fund raising and talk of change, as the Coos County Democrats hold their annual dinner and silent auction on Saturday.

Democrats from around Coos County packed the Coquille Community building for the main fund raising event of the year.

Joanne Verger, Arnie Roblan and even current Oregon Secretary of State and Bandon native Bill Bradbury were on hand to discuss current state and national issues affecting the local community.

Attendees also got a chance to hear from the night's special guest Thom Hartmann, who is a New York Times bestselling author and national radio personality who has a nationally syndicated daily show called, "The Thom Hartmann Program."

The dinner was also a time for volunteers from state and national Democratic campaigns to get campaign and recruit new volunteers.

All the proceeds from this event go toward the group's local and national political community service activities.
