MYRTLE POINT, Ore. - A Myrtle Point diner got an unexpected visit from royalty Wednesday afternoon, as an international head of state stopped in to get a bite to eat.

Surrounded by about 30 U.S. and Jordanian Secret Service agents, King Abdullah Hussein of Jordan, along with his private party of 10, spent about an hour and half at the Kozy Kitchen Restaurant.

Due to tight security, there were several motorcycle riders dressed like him with helmets and masks on.

He and his son are on a private vacation, visiting various spots in Washington and Oregon.

In fact, they're touring the seven wonders of the world and had just visited Crater Lake.

Restaurant staff said they were approached by Secret Service last week, who said they would be bringing in a high-profile person. The staff didn't know who.

After realizing that it was the King of Jordan, they say, he was a delight to serve.

"They were very nice and very easy to deal with," says Managers Kathy Pyle and Stacie Tessman. "It was pretty private. Not many people knew about it, except what leaked out in the community."

They add, they aren't sure why he chose Kozy Kitchen, but that he ordered a mushroom swiss burger with onion rings. They also came away with autographs.

Before this stop, the King of Jordan spent at least two days rafting in Bend and staff say that he's now heading south on his vacation.
