Old Town Bandon plays host to the 62nd annual Cranberry Festival
By Kristina NelsonBANDON, Ore. -- The City of Bandon is prepping for one of their biggest celebrations of the year honoring what they're known best for, cranberries. The 62nd annual Bandon Cranberry Festival will be held this weekend in Old Town Bandon, with events kicking off on Friday. The three day event, features everything from a blessing of the harvest, to live music and food and over 65 craft vendors. "The Cranberry Festival started 62 years ago with the Cranberry Farmers Alliance and it was to celebrate the harvest. Cranberries are Bandon's agricultural crop and we are known as the 'Cranberry Capitol of the West," says Chamber of Commerce Director Julie Miller. Every year, the festival has a theme, this year's is "Cranberry Fields Forever," a clever spin off the Beatles popular song "Strawberry Fields Forever." Everything kicks off this Friday at 11 a.m. in Bandon and runs through Sunday afternoon. Most Popular
