COOS COUNTY, Ore. - If you're looking for a fun, cheap alternative to buying your Christmas tree at the local lot this year, look no further than the Bureau of Land Management.

Beginning this Friday, the BLM will begin selling tree permit tags for folks who want to cut their own trees on BLM forest land.

At five dollars a tag, it's a great alternative to buying a tree from a lot, which can cost you up to 50 dollars.

BLM Public Affairs Officer Megan Harper says parcels of BLM land east of Coquille as well as Blue Ridge in Coos Bay are two great areas to find trees.

The BLM office is located in North Bend and is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
