LAKESIDE, Ore. - Even though the economy is looking down, Christmas tree sales are looking up at one local tree farm that offers a variety of trees to fit anyone's budget.

Mountain View Farms, located in Lakeside, opened up their Christmas tree sales the day after Thanksgiving, and so far owners say, the customers have been rolling in.

Offering customers a choice of cutting their own Noble or Douglas Fir on one of their seven parcels of land or choosing from a pre-cut tree, the farms have become a favorite stop for folks during the holiday's.

The farm typically sees 2,000 to 3,000 visitors in the month of December, with over 600 tree sales.

If you choose to take a pre-cut tree, they offer the traditional Douglas or Grand Fir as well as a new type of tree this year.

"We have a special new type of tree called Cork Bark. It's tall and narrow, and is a cousin of the Noble Fir. It's also a local tree, grown in the mountains here locally," says Mountain View Farms owner Mel Luckie.

Trees range in price from $100 down to as little as $25.

They also have handmade wreaths and Christmas decorations.

Mountain View Farms is located in Lakeside off of North Lake Road.

They're open seven days a week from nine a.m. until dark through Christmas Eve.
