NORTH BEND, Ore. -Firefighters are use to helping those in need but this week, they'll be rolling in on two wheels instead of the usual four.

Over 60 bikes were unloaded at the North Bend Fire Department Wednesday night, for their annual "Kids for Christmas" program.

Arriving in parts, the fire department, along with North Bend Sanitation and their families, spent the evening constructing the boys and girls bikes for all ages.

"We actually take them to individual houses. We've got a list of 25 families that we're going to deliver to throughout the entire area, up to Lakeside, all over Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston and we actually have nine bikes that we're delivering to powers," says firefighter Luke Rector.

Bill Richardson, who's been partnering with K-Mart the last four years to receive these bike donations says they have just as good of time building these bikes as they do delivering them.

"It's great for our community. We've got people families here together and we have the firemen and their families together. It's just a good

North Bend Firefighters and volunteers will deliver these bikes to families, Wednesday, Dec 17.
