COQUILLE, ORE - Continuous rainfall over the weekend prompts flood warnings for the South Coast, particularly in low-lying areas around Coos County.

The Coquille(Ko-Kwell) River overran it's banks and covered nearly an entire park near the city of Coquille.

While the Millicoma River in Allegany was almost above its banks in several areas.

Coos County Emergency Services Coordinator Glenda Hales says they are doing their best to keep any type of debris off the area roads.

She also advises drivers to steer clear of flooded areas and not to try and drive through flooded roadways since they can get stuck, or washed off the roadway.

For more information on road conditions you can call O-DOT at 1-800-977-6368.

Hales also asks that you not call 911 for non-emergency roadway questions.
