GARDINER, Ore. - An event that has been growing in popularity over the years is back in Gardiner this weekend that promises to keep the beer, wine and music flowing.

Crews were busy setting up for the Third Annual Confluence Festival at the Old W.F. Jewett School on Thursday.

Confluence is sponsored by the Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce and features the best of the best in beer, wine, food, art and music.

"Confluence means a coming together or a flowing together of things. We thought what better title for the event than Confluence because here we are where the rivers meet and the beer, wine and music flow together," says Event Coordinator Joe Mirvis.

The event recently received the "Ovation Award" from the Oregon Festival and Event Association, being recognized as the Best New Festival or Event in the state.

Mirvis says this year, there will be a number of bands playing at the event, not to mention the food, art and eight wineries and three breweries.

"We have Deschutes Brewery out of Bend as well the Rogue Brewery. We also have wineries from across the state."

It kicks off this Saturday from 12-8 p.m. and again on Sunday from 12-6 p.m.

Tickets are $8 and can be purchased at the door.
