LAKESIDE, Ore. -- A "boat-and-run" accident damaged a county sheriff's boat house, trapping a sheriff's office boat inside.

Sometime during the weekend of March 21, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office boat house at Ten Mile Lake in Lakeside, Ore., sustained damaged when an unknown boat hit the house.

The damage left the boat house unusable and trapped one of the sheriff’s office boats inside.

Investigators believe the culprit was traveling eastbound at a fairly high rate of speed when it collided with the boat house moored at the docks at a county park boat ramp.

By the damage sustained at the boat house, investigators believe there should be substantial damage to the suspect vessel.

Anyone with information regarding this accident should contact the Coos County Sheriff’s Office at (541) 396-3121.
