BANDON, Ore. - With just two women and two men left, the 100th Oregon Amateur Golf Championship wrapped up it's final round of play at Bandon Dunes on Saturday morning.
After a week of play, the field was narrowed down to just two women, Kendra Little of Eugene and Amy Beth Simanton of Lake Oswego, and Chris Polski of Eugene and Andrew Vijarro on the men's side. Both pairs tee-d off at eight a.m. Saturday morning for the 36 hole match-play title. Simanton finished the first 18 4 up. She went on to win the women's title, becoming one of the youngest players ever to do so. On the men's side, Polski shot an even par on the first 18 but only mustered a 1 up lead. But Vijarro came out the victor, taking the men's title, becoming one of just a handful of men to simultaneously hold the Oregon Men's Stroke Play and Oregon Amateur titles.
