'Armed and dangerous' suspect caught at Motel 6 with stripper
By KVAL.com staffEUGENE, Ore. -- U.S. Marshals arrested a man wanted for armed robberies in Coos Bay and Woodburn at a Eugene motel at noon Thursday while the man was in the company of a local stripper. The U.S. Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force arrested Dean John Perri, 39, at the Motel 6 on International Way in Eugene, Ore. Perri was on federal probation for two separate convictions, including a weapons violation, dating back to 1999 when he decided to abscond from supervised release, according to the Marshal's office. Police had named him a suspect in the Coos Bay robbery and a person of interest in the Woodburn and said he should be considered armed and dangerous. Marshals did not say whether Perri was armed at the time of his apprehension. Over the past two days, law enforcement tracked Perri to the Eugene area. Marshals tracked him to the Motel 6 and began a covert surveillance in and around the area. Perri was positively identified leaving a room and was confronted by Fugitive Task Force members. Marshals said Perri tried to run but was apprehended and placed taken into custody in order to make an appearance in federal court. |
