BANDON, Ore. -There was only one contested vote during Tuesday nights Special Election in the bay area and that was in Bandon.  And apparently residents were not on board with the proposed Property Tax Levy.

Measure No. 6-128, would require property owners to pay an extra 56 Cents per $1,000 of Assessed Property Value over the next five years, to help pay for 24-hour police protection.

The latest report from the Coos County Elections Office show that 51.5% voted No, with a close 48.5% voting Yes.  That's a difference of less than 30 votes.

Only a little over half of Bandon's Registered Voters turned out for this election, at 52.5%

You can check the results for yourself at the Coos County Website, http://www.co.coos.or.us/
