NORTH BEND, Ore. -The first major rainfall of the season hit Thursday, flooding several roadways, and even some businesses along the South Coast.

North Bend Police Department was out patrolling the streets, setting up flares and cones on flooded roadways. In Charleston, the parking lot of Chucks Seafood was completely over-run with water.

According to Officer Jon Bohanan, they were able to call out their Street Department, as well as Oregon Department of Transportation, to clear some of those drainage areas.

"The water has sense recessed but we're asking motorists to just use caution in those areas," said Bohanan. "Water will pile up in some of those corners of the roadways if the drains have not been cleared, the water does stand on the roadways. "

According to the National Weather Service, more rain is expected through the weekend, as are high surf and wind warnings. So once again, motorists are encouraged to use extra caution on the roadways.
