REEDSPORT, Ore. - A Reedsport native and Army Lieutenant Colonel, comes back to his hometown this Veterans Day, to meet with former soldiers and say thanks for their service to their country.

Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Frambes has served with the 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and has family still living in the Reedsport area.

The 1986 graduate of Reedsport High School, Frambes joined the Army 23 years ago after graduating from Washington State University and has served two tours of duty in Iraq.

On Wednesday, Frambes met with local veterans to share his appreciation for their service.

"The Southern Oregon coast doesn't get a lot of exposure with active duty soldiers. We send, as a community, we send people to serve, so a lot of people know people who are on active duty, but I have and opportunity to come back and share some of my experiences and give back to the community."

Frambes is currently attending the Army's Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
