Jayme Austin Memorial Fund
By Erica Rush, KCBY NewsCOQUILLE, Ore. -The murder of Jayme Sue Austin, allegedly by her sisters husband, has left two families torn apart in Fairview. Now, friends and family are hoping to raise funds for another set of victims, their kids. More than one dozen individuals came together in Coquille Tuesday night, to figure out the details for a family fundraiser. Austin, 31, was strangled to death last Monday, Nov. 9. Now her Brother-in-Law, Patrick Lee Horath, 45, is behind bars, charged with her murder. Each have young children affected by the tragedy. Austin with her two daughters, and Horath's two children with his current wife. According to Kara Breuer, who's assisting with this memorial, "We realize that Alyssa also, Jayme's sister is going to be going through a rough time and will also have a loss of income at her house. So we're hoping to be able to assist her with her expenses from here a little bit, to off-set what she's going to be losing. Along with helping Jayme's kids too." Breuer add that a 'Jayme Austin Memorial Fund,' has been set up at any Umpqua Bank Branch, under her name, if anyone in the community would like to help with monetary donations. There's also a spaghetti and auction event, expected to be held on Dec., 13, from 3-6 PM, at Coquille High School. Meanwhile, a Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held for friends and family of Austin on Saturday, Nov. 21, beginning at noon, at the Fairview Fire Hall Lone Pine Station. Most Popular |
