DRAIN, Ore. -- A Coos Bay woman died after her car left the road and became submerged in Elk Creek off Highway 38 just west of Drain.

Police identified the victim as Darcie Kroh, 32, of Coos Bay, Ore.

The vehicle was reported to Oregon State Police just before noon Monday.

"What we have is a single vehicle in the river," said Lt. Doug Ladd with Oregon State Police. "It was reported late this morning. It may have happened last night. We're still doing some checking on that."

Divers were called to the scene to help assist with the extraction of the car.
