Girl Scouts lend support to Toy Tales program
By Tim Novotny KCBY NewsCOOS BAY, ORE - There are a number of big sales going on after Thanksgiving this weekend, but only one owes a lot of its success to a local group of Girl Scouts. The young Scouts joined forces with Oregon Coast Community Action to clean and sort toys and games for ORCCA's Toy Tales program. Community Action Volunteer Coordinator Madeline Enos says the effort goes to help other kids in the area. "All proceeds go to our children's programs like Head Start, CASA and Snack Pack." The Toy Tales accepts donations of gently used toys, games, puzzles and other items that will be sold for prices ranging from 25-cents to ten dollars. The Girl Scouts, like Kylie O'Reilly and Lorien Deyo, say they enjoy giving back to the community. This sale will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Black Friday and Saturday inside the Pony Village Mall in North Bend, with another sale set for the second week in December. Community members can donate toys, or volunteer to help with the sales, by calling Madeline at 541-888-7070. Most Popular
