SHORE ACRES, Ore. - After the turkey and the football was through, many folks got out of the house and headed to Shore Acres State Park Thursday night, for the opening of their Holiday Lights Display.

Even the wet weather couldn't stop folks from pulling out their rain gear and heading to the park to check out the 275,000 lights currently on display.

This is the 23rd year of the Holiday Lights Display at Shore Acres, and for many folks it has become a holiday tradition.

"It's just nice to go for a walk after having a nice Thanksgiving dinner," said Aurora Johnson of North Bend.

Everything from traditional Christmas trees, to some unconventional things, like lit up sea creatures and flowers are on display.

And everyone has a favorite part.

'I just saw the puffins, that was new for me. I really enjoyed these," said Johnson.

"I enjoy the pond every year, it's bright and cheery, sparkling," added Cindy Fry of Lakeside.

In addition to the lights, the Garden House is also open at the park, serving free hot cider and coffee as well as cookies.

The Holiday Lights are on display through New Years Eve.

The cost is free, but there is a $3 parking fee.
