Animals need love too this ChristmasBy Kristina Nelson, KCBY NewsCOOS BAY, Ore. - The holiday's are all about giving back, and a local nursing home is reminding folks that it's not only people, but animals that need love too this Christmas. Six year-old Boomer is one of three cats that roam the halls and keep residents entertained at the Life Care Center in Coos Bay. He and his feline friends were part of the inspiration behind the center's holiday animal drive going on currently. "They give so much to us, we have Furry Friends come over, we have our facility animals. And animals give so much to humans, that we thought it was about time the humans gave back to animals and so that's how it started and it's been very successful, the year before last and last year," says Life Care Marketing Director Anne Sellers. Now in it's third year, the holiday animal drive collects food, bedding and other items for animals at the Coos County Animal Shelter. Sellers says they are looking for some specific items. "We're looking for dry dog food, cat food, kitten, puppy, quality flea products, any kind of toys. anything that your pet would use, these pets need." The holiday animal drive will be going on through January 31st. The Life Care Center is located on Ocean Boulevard. Most Popular
