Coos Co. contestant takes first step toward possible Miss Oregon Crown
By Erica Rush, KCBY NewsCOOS BAY, Ore. -After months of preparation and training, five young hopefuls compete for the title of Miss Coos County 2010. Saturday night marked a culmination of talent, physical fitness and interviews that come down to a tough decision for the judges. In the 23rd Annual Miss Coos County Scholarship Pageant, these ladies competed not only for their crown but for their platform and funding for their college education. Awards were also handed out to the young princess and Miss Coos County's Outstanding Teen, which was awarded to Caitlin Snuggerud of North Bend High School. We caught up with former Outstanding Teen Ryann Jack and Miss Coos County 2009 Amee Erbele, before the pageant to find out what advice they have for future Coos County representatives. "Just take every moment you can with every person that you meet and just enjoy their presence and be an overall good person," said Erbele. Jack added, "Just give it your all because this is your year and it's your time to shine and your year is what you make it. So with five hopefuls holding hands, it would be SOCC student Bebette Solorzano who was named this years Miss Coos County. Aside from her title, she'll also be the recipient a two year tuition waiver of more than $10,000. |
