Kulongoski to sign House Bill in Coos Bay
Coos Bay- Governor Ted Kulongoski will make an appearance in Coos Bay on Friday, signing a significant House Bill that local legislators worked hard to pass during the 2007 session.
House Bill 5036 will be signed into house law, authorizing the use of lottery bonds for the Coos Bay Channel Project which will widen and deepen the channel.
By improving the deep-draft navigation system state legislators including Joanne Verger and Arnie Roblan hope the north spit will become a more desirable site for the proposed development of a container terminal.
The signing ceremony will take place on the Coos Bay Boardwalk at 2:30 PM.
