Free Fishing Weekend, June 11-12

NORTH BEND, Ore. -Time to grab your poles and shovels, for one weekend only, you can fish, crab or clam for free at all Oregon's waterway, for the annual Free Fishing Weekend.    
    
On Saturday, June 11, through Sunday only, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is waiving their fishing licenses fees.
    
In an attempt to help parents introduce their children to the joy of fishing, ODFW Volunteers will be at various water holes, teaching kids  how to ID fish, tie knots, and cast their poles.
    
From 9 to 2:30 on Saturday, volunteers will be at Eel Lake at Tugman Park, where kids will be able to catch Trout out of a net pen and also receive a gift bag of fishing tackle and a free lunch.
    
During Free Fishing Weekend, fishing licenses and tags are not required, although all other regulations apply, including bag limit and size restrictions.
