5.3 earthquake off Oregon Coast

EUGENE, Ore. - A magnitude 5.3 earthquake rumbled under the Pacific Ocean just after 9 a.m. Wednesday about 136 miles west of Eugene, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake hit at 9:12 a.m. off the coast of Oregon.

The quake will not generate a tsunami, the NOAA/NWS/West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Center said in a bulletin.
