Police were called to a reported robbery at the Newmark Avenue Subway restaurant at around 10:20 a.m. Thursday. The suspect fled after stealing an undisclosed amount of money. Police say two female employees were on duty at the time of the incident as a man quickly entered, pepper-sprayed one of the workers and fled with some cash. It all happened extremely fast. The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-30s to early-40s, and they believe he may be associated with a newer model white sedan. They say he is about 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighs about 170 to 180 pounds. He was clean shaven with short brown hair, and was wearing a green long-sleeve shirt with a camouflage patch on the shoulder. He also was wearing a camouflage cap with a red and white patch on the front. Detective Patrick Kenney said the employees acted just the way they should, and did not try to fight with the man. He said no one was seriously injured in the incident. Members of the North Bend and Coos Bay Police Departments, the Coos County Sheriff's Office and the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team assisted in the investigation. The incident remains under investigation at this time. Anyone with information on the suspect or the robbery should contact North Bend Police. Most Popular
