Biggest Pirate inks with Vikings
Marshfield's Dalton Milburn signed his National Letter of Intent to play football for the Portland State Vikings, but teachers, coaches and family say the Vikings are also getting a well rounded student.
With his parents, Kelly and Tina, at his side Dalton Milburn made it official.
Marshfield High School Principal Greg Mulkey was on hand, along with coaches and fellow students.
He says he couldn't be prouder of Dalton. "Dalton is a perfect example of that all around person that we've had here. He's a great representative off the court, off the field."
Milburn, who says he will pursue a Degree in Civil Engineering, is glad the whole process is now behind him.
"It's nice to get the signing out of the way, kind of get all the intense emotions out, and now it's just down the business."
Some of that business will be taking care of teammates on the basketball court during their playoff push, and preparing for three events in Track and Field in the Spring.
