From Nashville with love, a Christmas song spreads joy

Myrtle Point native Nichole Cooper still has strong ties to the South Coast, even though the singer now calls Nashville home. She recently released a Christmas song with an eye on helping at home.

KCBY has followed Cooper's career path since she first made a run on the American Idol TV show back in 2004.

In 2005, the then-20-year-old, returned to the South Coast to crowned Miss Coos County.

After heading to Nashville once, she returned to Portland a few years back and made a couple of changes, in hair color and musical style, finding a home with the Blues.

Now she is back in Nashville and has teamed-up with a Producer and Director and the combination has resulted in two recent music video's that will no doubt catch some attention on the web.

Her new tune called "Christmas in My Heart" is now available on I-Tunes and could end up helping a local teen achieve her dreams.

From now until Christmas Day, every cent from the sales of "Christmas in My Heart" will go to help fund Natalie Hill's Bucket List.

Cooper recently e-mailed KCBY saying that she had received word from a woman in Coos Bay explaining about Hill's battle with cancer and the creation of her bucket list.

"At this time of year, it just makes sense to reach out and help others," says Cooper

She adds that Natalie Hill has become an inspiration to her, with her positive attitude, bravery and strength.

Her song "Christmas in My Heart" is also available on CD Baby, in addition to I-Tunes.
