NORTH BEND, ORE - For the third year in a row, area coffee drinkers can splurge on their favorite treat this Friday with the knowledge that the money they spend at a couple local drive-ups will go to help fight cancer locally.

All day long on October 23rd The Human Bean locations in Coos Bay and North Bend will be selling coffee and baked goods as part of their annual "Coffee for a Cure" fundraiser.

Owners Jessica and Sean Randle are joining with all Human Bean stores for the one day event, but while it is a corporate-wide activity all of the funds raised stay in the local area.

Jessica Randle says all proceeds from the day will be donated in conjunction with the Waterfall Clinic and Bay Area Hospital. "What happens is all the money will be filtered through the Waterfall Clinic for patients that are without the resources to pay for early detection themselves, but it will be administered by Bay Area Hospital."

Randle says each franchise gets to choose how much of their sales they will donate, and once again they chose to donate all 100-percent. "The community's been so good to us and we're just grateful to be able to be able to give back."

The Human Bean's "Coffee for a Cure" day is October 23rd and Randle says they will also have donation jars on hand for people to contribute more if they would like. The Coos Bay and North Bend locations are open from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
