Vessel Assist serves as a tow-truck on the water
When you are at sea and have a non-emergency situation that leaves you at, well, sea, you may call Vessel Assist to get home. Around Coos Bay that means you will call Captain Thomas Kramer.

Recently his services were needed for something a little more unusual, as Vessel Assist had to retrieve a wayward dredge pipe.

Kramer told KCBY that the job went much smoother than they thought it would, since the pipe was about a half mile in length.

He says when it is an emergency at sea you want to call the Coast Guard, but if it is a little more trivial than you should call for Vessel Assist.
